Final phase planning granted at Springwell 27
October 15th, 2012
Planning approval has been granted for the final phase of development at Springwell 27 industrial/business park in Birstall, Leeds. Developer Eshton Gregory has secured permission to build a 30,000 sq ft facility for industrial and office uses which is available on a design and build basis and could be ready for occupation in just 18 weeks from commitment by the occupier.
Springwell 27 is a successful 8 acre development located just half a mile from Junction 27 of the M62 motorway. The popular Birstall Retail Park and Ikea are situated next door and Leeds city centre is just 6 miles away.
In 2007 Ocado selected the site to house its 10,500 sq ft regional distribution depot and Eshton Gregory subsequently delivered phase 2 comprising 30,000 sq ft in 11 units. A sale of the last earlier this year prompted plans to progress the third and final phase.
Eshton Gregory is a joint venture partnership between Eshton Property Development and Gregory Property Developments. Richard Tovey, at Gregory said, “The success of the two phases at Springwell 27 serves to reinforce its excellent location. With all units sold we are in a strong position to release the final phase which offers a 30,000 sq ft Design and Build opportunity. As infrastructure is in place we have a distinct advantage of being able to provide brand new premises very quickly”.
More than 200 jobs have been created at Springwell 27 over the last three years with disposals to major operators including Floorbrite, UPVC Maintenance, K R Hannaford, DSP Electrical and more recently to used JCB specialist T C Harrison Group.
Joint agents are Carter Jonas and Dove Haigh Phillips both of Leeds.< Back to News Items
